Hey everyone I’m Becca!!! The purpose of this section in my blog page is for you to get to know me a little better, but first I just want to thank you for clicking on my page in the first place. It genuinely means more to me than you could imagine!! The World Race isn’t something I’m doing for myself, I’m doing this for God and his glory, so I want each and every single one of you to be a part of this journey too. I know this saying is cheesy, but we really are all in this together.
As you’re reading this, I am 18 years old and almost halfway through my senior year of high school. I love to do anything artistic including painting, collaging, drawing, etc. Art is a way for me to express my emotions without using words and I am very thankful for this outlet. As well as art, I also find comfort in reading. Nothing is better than crawling into your warm bed after a long day and just submerging yourself into a book, at least in my opinion. Using these creative outlets helps me grow mentally but growing physically is also very important to me.
About two years ago I made a promise to myself; I will no longer wake up everyday and hate my body, instead I will do everything possible to become the best version of myself, not just for me, but also for God. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 states, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” This verse has stuck with me throughout my journey in the gym because it’s made me think very long and hard. Am I taking care of Gods temple to the best of my ability? I knew my answer before I even asked myself the question; so ever since that day I have stuck to my promise. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had hard days along this journey where I don’t feel like working out/ eating healthy, but I remind myself that anything is possible with God. I’m proud to say that I currently workout five days a week for about two hours each day, which means that God’s temple is a lot stronger than it was two years ago. All of the progress I’ve made in the gym I owe to the Lord.
A few more things about me are that I live in St. Augustine Florida, I was born in Manchester England and moved to America when I was four years old, I love working with children and leading them to the Lord, I plan to major in Psychology at Samford University after my gap year, my family is very important to me, I run off of coffee and bagels, I feel closest to Jesus while in the ocean at sunrise, I love running the tech booth at church, and pink is my favorite color.
If you have made it this far, I just want to thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me!! I would love to get to know each and every person reading this! The only thing I ask is that you please keep myself, as well as all the other racers in your prayers, as this is a big step for all of us.
